Political gridlock

The Economy is lethargic, unemployment is high, people's moral is low and the politicians- as usual - put politic first.  This is the time for true patriotism to flourish.  We need to forget about what party we belong to, and remember that , after all, we are all Americans and we must work together for America.  It is time to take the firm resolution to do our best and be ready to meet any challenges head on and to overcome them by God's grace.  My wish for everyone is not to be depressed, discouraged, stagnant or to stay idle.  Instead let us be proactive.  Let us stay the course and be the best we can ever be.  The tough call is for all of us.  In any reasonable family, in order to balance the budget, we need to cut expenses as much possible, and at the same time we need to find possible ways to increase revenues also.  This should be the same for the whole country:  Let everyone share the burden and together the yoke will be lighter.  We can do it!

IS MR. OBAMA A ONE TERM PRESIDENT?

You know this quote: "History teaches us one thing: Man learns nothing from history" .  This is the case that is unfolding right in front of all of us.  During the 1930's, reducing expenses and fighting against the deficit  did not help to get out of depression.  At a crucial time like this, the states and the US Government should not be laying off people, contributing to a higher employment rate.  NO!!!  At this point in time, we pay way too much attention to reducing the deficit and not enough steps are taken to boost the economy.  The blame game will get us nowhere.  we need to pull up our sleeves and start working together to get out of the situation.  We cannot put rich against poor, financial institutions / businesses against people.  They need each other.  The financial institutions did misbehave and they did make the situation much worse.  However, let us not use a band aid when we need real clean and deep surgical intervention.  It took us years of mismanagement, bad policy and playing politics as usual to get into the current condition.  We need a long term plan that focuses on education, building, repairing our infrastructures, developing policies that encourage and stimulate people to come up with new ideas, new invention...Of course the deficit needs to be addressed, but it should not be a top priority at this moment.

President Obama cannot be reelected if he continues with policies that create more unemployment, more uncertainties for the general public and the financial institution.  He must have a clear message, a specific but comprehensive plan.  A little change here and a little one there goes nowhere.  One sign says it all: "CHANGE REQUIRES COURAGE".  Whether we like Mr Bush or not, we all knew where he stood and he had a strong vice-president.  I believe, for 2012, Mr. Obama should run with Mrs. Clinton as her vice President.
