Health

Remember: you must be alive and well to enjoy success. So take care of the most precious gift you have: your health. How? Take inventory of your current situation: how healthy are you? What is your diet? How active are you? Do you smoke? Are you overweight? How old are you? How many hours do you sleep in 24 hours? What is your life style, what are your sexual habits? These are the issues that can determine your state of health.

A healthy diet includes plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, food that has low level of glucose, and the appropriate balance of proteins, lipids and carbohydrates, the right quality and quantity of fats, and the control of the portions taken along with the frequency, plus carefully chosen nutritional supplements. You need to sleep well between 6-8 hours at night, drink plenty of water, avoid or decrease the level of stress and learn to cope with it; exercise regularly; stop smoking, avoid alcohol, stay away form illegal drugs; and have a handle on your sexual life. Consult with your physician regularly even when you are feeling fine. There are basic, required tests for certain age groups and risk factors. Do not gamble with your life. Although all of us have an expiration date, do not precipitate it.

LOVE

Every normal being is bound to fall in love sooner or later. The key is how it is handled. When it comes, it is wonderful. If we want to keep it blossoming, here are a few steps:

1-know yourself, your strengths and your weaknesses. 2-increase your preparation and decrease your expectations 3-make a conscious decision to make your partner happy and do not depend on him or her for your own happiness. If it comes, by all means accept it with open arms but otherwise, life goes on. 4-Do not dump your “baggage” on him or her. 5-do your best to be truthful and faithful. 6-respect your partner. 7-have a good sense of humor 8-do not nag or antagonize your partner 9-Give the partner room to breathe 10-learn to communicate appropriately 11-remember that anger and loose tongue can destroy in a moment, what it took many years to build 12-Keep a positive attitude. 13-never take your partner for granted, always add zest, romance to your love life….

FINANCE

Life on this earth demand a minimum to survive including a roof over our head, food to eat, and clothes on our back.  Usually, these basic needs must be met for survival.  It often requires not only hard work, but also smart work, ability to save, invest, and  help others.  The financial condition must be well arranged to face daily exigencies of life as well as prepared for the unforeseen events, life style and retirement prospects.  No one wants to be taken off guard when time of adversity knocks at the door.

Women Issues

In this 21st century, almost everyone can admit that women have made significant progress in their status.  Nevertheless, there is still a long way to go.  Women and Men are different but equal human beings.  They need to be treated fairly by getting equal pay for equal work.  They deserve to be free to make their own choices about their body, their preferences, their values, careers, investments, and their success.  They can get advised, if needed, but ultimately they must have the freedom to decide for themselves without any interferences or pressures from others who may not necessarily have they interests in mind.

POLITICS

This issue is very volatile and depends on a few variables. There are so many unknowns, so many unpredictablities. It is hard to come up with a conclusion that will last for long. We know that this is a difficult time. Many people are disappointed. It is time for change. But the choices must be made through reason not on emotion. We must find out what kind of changes the country needs and not changes just for the sake of changing.

YOUTH

Never before should our young people be more involved in forging the future of this planet. Be it global warming, education, disarmament, security, or economic policies, our youth has its role to play in various aspects and different issues. It is paramount that our youth remains healthy, committed, well educated, patriotic, and passionate in forging our destiny.

MINORITIES

In this era of globalization, political instabilities and economic crises, the number of minority groups has increased appreciably.  They are considered as minorities because they constitute a number that is less than the majorities.  They undergo instances of abuse, injustice, servitude and frustration.  It is time for the minorities to take conscience of the situation and engage in constructive dialogue, stay focus on the issues and seek for appropriate changes.  On the one hand the majorities must take appropriate steps to establish a fair society where people are treated for who they are, what they are worth, what they know and can offer instead of the color of their skin, on the other hand, the minorities must be diligent enough to seek and work for their own success.

RELIGION

“Here today, gone tomorrow!” Is this what life is all about? What happens after death? What if we had to give account of our lives? The time to ask these questions and decide on the answers is now. A prudent person must be ready for any possibilities. Our spirituality should not be left at the mercy of the unknown. We are too intelligent to let others decide for us. We owe it to ourselves to investigate the ultimate destiny of mankind and to make the appropriate adjustments.
